FAQs

When will I receive my photos?

Lifestyle sessions are typically delivered within 2-3 weeks.
Weddings are delivered within 4-6 weeks.

Do you include prints in your session fees?

I do not offer printing services, but you can order prints through your online gallery once your gallery is delivered! When you open your online gallery for the first time, it will show you where and how to order prints.

What type of gear do you use?

Nikon gear, both bodies and lenses.
+ Two digital cameras for weddings with a dual-camera harness.
+ One camera for portrait sessions.

Do I get access to the RAW unedited files? Am I allowed to put my own filters on the images I receive?

No. While a major part of my job is to capture special moments, the unseen part of my job is the editing process. Part of the process is getting rid of the photos that are not flattering, etc.

RAW files are the property of the photographer. To allow my clients to make any changes to an image I capture is to relinquish claim to my property and my artistic freedom. Also, opening a RAW file could crash your device unless opened with professional editing software.

I take pride in my work, and I want to deliver you beautiful images that you'll want to hang on the walls of your home!

How many photos will I receive?

For both weddings and portrait sessions, I do not guarantee a specific number, but I do give you an approximation of how many images you can expect to receive. You can find this information above, and also by clicking on the "Detailed List of Wedding Packages, Pricing and Add-ons" for information on wedding collections.

What do I do if I'm uncomfortable in front of the camera? Do I pose myself?

I completely understand being uncomfortable in front of the camera. But part of my job is to help you relax and enjoy the experience. While I may pose you sometimes, I make it a point to interact with you, keep things light-hearted and throw out prompts to spur on authentic moments that showcase exactly who you are!
Please understand, I am not responsible for any insecurity or personal issues having to do with body image.

Do you have any advice on what to wear for my session?

I currently have an outfit/style guide for my couples that have scheduled engagement sessions with me.
As of right now, I do not have one for any other type of lifestyle session (families, maternity, graduates, etc.). While I have every intention to create an outfit guide for each kind of session, I encourage you to check out Pinterest for inspiration!

How long do you keep photos in storage?

I guarantee my clients that their images are kept in storage for one calendar year from the date of their wedding or portrait session.
You also have an add-on option to purchase a 5-year archival of your photos. Sadly, there are real stories of people losing their photos due to unfortunate incidents, such as house fires. This is why I offer a 5-year archival option!

Unless you purchase a 5-year archival of your photos, I strongly encourage you to save and backup images, as I cannot guarantee storage after the one year mark.

Do you use a second shooter for weddings?

I determine whether to hire a second shooter based on specific details:
+ the location of the wedding
+ the number of guests that will be attending
+ the number of hours I am hired for
+ if the bride and groom request a second shooter

(I typically do not hire a second shooter for smaller, intimate weddings or elopements unless requested.)

How early should I book a wedding?

I always recommend booking 9-12 months before your wedding day. In this way, I can put your wedding day on my calendar so there won't be any scheduling conflicts, but also because I can be an assistant to you along the way!
